Normally, this is not the type of book I would read, but it turned out to be quite interesting. The way the book is written causes the reader to be uncertain about the motivations of the characters, until the end. The idea of shame related to Hiroshima gives the story an unusual perspective.

I have read this book multiple times. This is the book that introduced me to Hemingway. I thought it was beautifully written.
