This was my first ever Spenser novel. I'll let it represent all of the Spenser and Sunny Randall books that I've read.
I laughed out loud through this entire book - absolutely hilarious.
Awesome dinosaur poems.
So, so, so, so, so, SO GOOD! I absolutely LOVED this book. My friend recommended it to me and I thought it would be weird at first, because the books she tells me to read usually are. I WAS WRONG. Everyone needs to read this book. Rose follows her heart and she knows what she needs to do and does it.
This was a quick read while I was sick a week ago. I enjoyed it.
Naming Infinity is a careful, factual description of a startling episode in the history of mathematics. A mystical religious practice (and eventually heresy) called "Name Worshipping" came into conflict first with the Russian Orthodox Church and later with the increasingly powerful Communist Party. But in the meanwhile it fueled creative accomplishments in the mathematics of infinity, an area in which more rationalist French mathematicians had stalled. The authors seem quite right to conclude that the relationship between religion and science is more convoluted than any simple story of conflict or harmony would suggest.
