** spoiler alert ** Newbery Honor 1959 lexile 680 grade 3-4 Set in Paris. A hobo named Armand finds a widow and three children living in his spot under the bridge. He takes the children to meet Father Christmas at a department store while the mother is at work. The children ask for a house. When two rich ladies threaten to put the children in an home (orphanage?), Armand takes his "family" to live with his friends the gypsies. After the gypsies leave, Armand finds a job as a caretaker that comes with a place for his "family" to live.

Finishing the 3rd in this trilogy leaves me wishing there were more...but then just whatelse could Larsen have said!

I couldn't finish this one. What was all the hoopla? So many people recommended it and I found it tedious. Too many other good books to read!
