man, this book was tedious. i liked the end though. great birth metaphor -- or perhaps unbirth, the giant fat man near the river swallowing her up. (also, by "great birth metaphor" i meant "kind of disgusting birth metaphor").

My mom gave this book to me as a gift, and since then I've just had to make sure the subject never came up.

I will never ever look at my dogs the same. A great read! Warning though: keep a box of tissues handy. It's a make-you-cry-cuz-it's-so-damn-touching kind of story! A must-read if you love your dog. Dean Koontz at his finest! Boy, did that guy love his Trixie...
