Loved this book. Makes you appreciate what we have today and how important friends are

Robin Waterfield's translation of this important Platonic dialogue is accessible and reads quickly. The intermittent summaries (in italics) are useful, and Waterfield includes a detailed bibliography in the introduction.

The only thing I don't like is that when you try to explain it to someone it sounds horrible!*
