An incredible epic of 14th century England. Great sequel to Pillars of the Earth.

I love books by JoAnn Mapson, but this book is boring, boring, boring. It just drags along.

I've read the entire Wizard of Oz series many times. It was a favorite of mine when I was a child. Since my girls aren't reading yet, I got this one to listen to. My oldest was thoroughly engrossed and became more so when I retrieved an copy I had that was illustrated by Michael Hague to look through while she listened. My youngest referred to aspects of the story which means she was listening closely. Definitely one that I might by for the girls. We listened to the Recorded Books cd but I am too lazy to find it if it doesn't pop up quickly.

One of Mariah Stewart's earlier novels and For a romance, this was wonderful! From back cover: "Though India Devlin left her hometown to pursue a brilliant career as a criminal prosecutor, she has always loved historic Devlin's Light, returning to visit as often as her busy schedule permits. But after her brother is found murdered on the steps of the lighthouse that is the town's namesake, she returns to Devlin's Light with a special purpose: to discover who killed Ry. So when her brother's good friend Nick Enright offers to help in her investigation, India accepts-after all, he'd found Ry that night, and heard his mysterious last words. As the list of suspects begins to narrow, India finds herself drawn to Nick-a feeling she's not sure she wants to admit. And Nick has never met a woman like the spirited India. Soon a wonderful new emotion is glowing at Devlin's Light-a sweet, undeniable, very mutual attraction-and it's intensifying with each wave that crashes on the beach of the enchanting town by the bay..."
