I love the blend of words and art to convey emotions and meaning. Artistic! A small criticism: the books starts off strong and peters slightly as it goes. Otherwise, novel and beautiful.

Gosh, I wish that Goodreads had 1/2 star ratings. To me, this book was a solid 3.5 stars. Usually I bump it up when it is a 1/2 star rating for me, but in this instance I think I will make it 3 instead. I am not saying I didn't like this book, because I did. I had some problems with a few things while reading it. I thought the plot was interesting, and although I liked Zach and Keith, I would have liked to have seen their relationship develop more throughout the story instead of right at the end. Also, in my opinion this book could have used another fifty pages or so. One moment we are in the mist of Keith and Zach dealing with Keith's problem, and the next it jumps a year later and they have this great relationship. I felt cheated in some ways. That's too bad because I thought this story had so much potiental, but unfortunately it just missed the mark for me. Maybe y'all won't feel that way if you read this one, but I felt like I missed the beauty of seeing their relationship build into love...or even friendship for that matter. Zach has been grieving over the death of his partner for the past two years. Plagued by surviors guilt and extremely lonely, he has been literally going through the motions of home, work and sleep since the death of his first love. As half-owner of a bookstore/coffeshop he is ashamed and afraid of his immediate attraction to the new hire Keith. The more Keith goes out of his way to be kind and flirt with Zach the more afraid he becomes. His first instinct was to fire the man, just so he could have some peace of mind, but he just can't seem to the the sexy, sweet man go. Keith has never met a more beautiful man than Zach. Not only does he want to wipe the haunted and sad look in the man's eyes, he wants to make Zach want him as he wants Zach. Keith himself has had his life turned upside down for the past 3 years, so he is ready to find some happiness himself, and he thinks Zach is the key to that happiness. There is a mystery to Keith, and a past that he must overcome. Throughout about 3/4 of this book, I thought they had some communication problems...outside of the bedroom that is...lol. I don't want to get too much more into this book, because I don't want to give too much away, but I will say again I liked it, I just don't know if it is Keeper shelf worthy for me. I still look forward to reading more by this author. I have really liked a couple of books I have read by her in the past, so I look forward to her next book. If you are offended by dirty words and M/M explicit sex this book is not for you.
