This is one of those seven or so books that I keep loaning out to people because I think they just have to read them--and never get the books back. I have bought four copies of Watchmen since I first read it for a Graphic Novels class. I remember being completely astonished by the plot when I first read it, but the thing that keeps me coming back to it is the way all the stories, all the details and side plots, are brought together by the end and unified.

Exotic settings (Colombia, Haiti, Sierra Leone, 19th-century Vienna) and great writing (esp. Fountain's gift for unique metaphors) make for a satisfying collection of stories.

I think that this is a must-read for many, many reasons but most of all I just want the whole world to know about Henrietta Lacks and her family. Fantastic book!
