Good place to start thinking

I read this book to satisfy my curiosity about the kidnapping/capture of Jaycee Lee Dugard. She gave more details that I had expected, some were quite disturbing. She endured so much but despite that she seems to have put her life back together, and isn't filled with hate. This is a simple book to read, but inspriational. We can't choose the circumstances that we are given but we can choose how we will react to them.

Quick Read. These people have really hit the nail on the head in their understanding of coming of age in a rural community. Excellent research. It confirms what we all know through experience, about the socio-economic and cultural issues of small communities whether in the Midwest of their study or the Northeast. it is right on in describing the social layers in rural high schools and the expectations of those in each segment. Anyone who grew up in a rural area will recognize what they have documented.
