great book. A little slow but really good
I don't want to say that I was disappointed because isn't a new Tales of the City book better than no Tales of the City? Is it better to have love and lost? (no) (yes) (no) (I don't know! leave me alone!) After reading this at work I was unsure of where to shelve it - in fiction with the other Tales of books or in gay fiction? Whereas the other Tales books covered several characters' lives this one focuses on Michael Tolliver. Mostly because it is titled Michael Tolliver Lives I'm sure. So Michael is gay and this ends up being one gay book which is fine and all but it made me feel a little left out. Like I was reading about football. I mean, I bet gay dudes would REALLY love it. Also I didn't like where some of the characters ended up. Like Mary Ann. I don't want to add any spoilers so I will go no further. Also I'm really exhausted. I probably should not write reviews in this state of exhaustion. They probably won't make sense. I once saw a chain of wallabies licking each others tails. What?
