Once you learn something, it takes a whole lot of effort and denial to unlearn it. If you aren't prepared to face cold, hard unpleasantness about how America runs shop, foreign policy-wise, I wouldn't recommend this book. It makes it hard to sit idly by and watch our country thug other nations for their resources. The writing is competent, and the author clearly knows what he's talking about. A good fill-in-the-blanks for any conspiracy theorists looking for some factual substance behind their rantings. Also a good overview of American foreign policy - on and off the record - for the last 40 years.
This is the wacky book I was writing about. A South American tribe roams the mountains and hallucinates up a storm. It sounds weird, but he book is actually a lot of fun.
