Set several years after the end of the revolutionary war, it continues the stories of Elizabeth and Nathaniel Bonner and their new family as they want to live their lives in the endless forests of the New York frontier, but are hauled off to Scotland w/ their twin babies instead. More understated in tone and true to the time than Gabaldon's Outlander series, very enjoyable.

I knew nothing about the hype surrounding this book going in, and I loved it. Really, really loved it. All the ladies I've lent it to have also loved it. Maybe it's because we still haven't entirely gotten over being awkward, angsty teen girls, or because we still remember those years so vividly that everything in Prep rang so, so true.
