People deride this book all the time, and I am the first to admit that if you're used to vintage DeLillo, it marks a departure. But hell, give the guy a break-- it was an earlier novel, and isn't it after all exactly what it purports to be? An ironic rock novel? Loved it. I call it must reading for all who reside on the LES (or in the East Village, for that matter).
