Looooooooooved this book!! Loved every.single.page! I was extremely surprised with this book, it didn't sound all that exciting (plus I prefer Adult books to Ya)but the reviews were fantastic so I thought I would give it a try. The story is about a 17 year old girl named Lila who has a telekinetic ability, she's only had it a few years and struggles to control it, after an attempted mugging where she nearly skewers her attacker with a knife she gets frightened and flees overseas to see her brother and his best friend Alex. But when Lila gets there she's not exactly welcome with open arms, her brother Jack and Alex are acting weird towards her and avoid answering any of her questions. I loved Lila, this is a YA book but the heroine is a very mature 17 year old. She's also been in love with her brothers best friend Alex since forever. He is 5 years older than her and Lila has to watch from afar as he flirts and dates other woman his age. Even though Alex was a lot older he didn't talk down to Lila, he spoke to her as an equal and comforted all the time. I adored him, so needless to say the romance in this book is a little tricky :P but well worth the wait. The story line was fantastic, the action balanced out the downtime and the friendship balanced out the romance. The ending is a cliff-hanger but one I am not too worried about, I have a feeling it will all pan out in the next book. Very good start to a new series. Sarah Alderson is a superb author and I'll be looking out for more books written by her.
