This was our book group's read for last week's meeting. Clean, precise and it illuminates. Maugham explores the impact of colonialism without being didactic. By the way, The movie stayed very true to the story.

كتاب رائع يسرد فيه هادي فقيهي تفاصيل الحروب المتتالية التي عانت منها المنطقة الحدودية بين السعودية واليمن وبالذات في الحرب الأخيرة عام ٢٠٠٩. الكتاب له طابع خاص بحكم كون المؤلف من سكان المنطقة، عاش تفاصيل الحرب كصحفي وإبن لعائلة أجبرت على النزوح من الشريط الحدودي. الكتاب من الكتب القليلة التي ناقشت موضوع الحرب على الحوثيين، ويطرح الكثير من الأسئلة حول التغطية الإعلامية للحرب و الطريقة التي تم فيها معالجة أوضاع النازحين، ويبدو أن هذه الأسئلة ما زالت تبحث عن إجابة ..

** spoiler alert ** You know Ive read a lot of books and stories that have touched me but no so much as the story of these two women. I literally held my chest while reading this book. The night I finished it i cried to sleep and my heart literally hurt. This was a very inspirational and touching book.
