Its super odd for me to read books that are religious in nature. On of my catch phrases is "Keep your Jesus I have my own." I decided to overlook that this time because I have always liked the story of Esther. I cackled, I laughed, and I didn't even mind the love story. I just have one problem. I think this book had a bit of (unintentional) gay bashing. Of course that is based on my perception of a character's sexuality. They author may not have intended that at all, though I think I could argue a good case that she did.

We love the movie based on this book, featuring Neil Patrick Harris. However, the book itself isn't exceptional, but is still a feel good read at Christmas.
