This tiny book is a perfect companion while traveling, but good to review at any time. It is well illustrated and instructive, with numerous poses covering a wide variety, including forward bending, balancing poses and much more. As usual, I appreciate the fact that the writers and illustrators do not utilize props to "force" their asanas. In particular Tip #12: "...it is important to recognize your body's capabilities. Never force your body into a posture or try to go beyond your limit. Remember, yoga is not a competitive sport. Progress may be slow, but with time your body will become flexible...."
Good meshing of cabin fever/supernatural. Ability to envision great suspenseful tableaux. Some of it is quite bonechilling descriptions if you have a vivid imagination. I can understand how this would be a difficult movie to make, even Kubrick had shortfalls. First it's a huge book, secondly, if not done right it comes off as being a cheap lame horror movie or melodramatic. It takes a certain delicate handling to convince a movie goer of the believability of King's supernatural mixing of the natural world.
I loved Red Tent but a little dissapointed with this book. A little dry.
