Read for book club - not my favorite genra. Some stories/ chapters were cute but it was not memorable for me.

Good, not great. Clearly the author had done enough research for John Adams that he suddenly realized that he had enough for a whole other book--and one that entitled "1776" was sure to sell. Nevertheless, this book is worth reading for anyone who lives in New York--the image of the British launching an amphibious assault on Murray Hill makes me laugh everytime I'm on the East River. Also, I learned that I lived a few blocks from Washington's Boston headquarters for a few years and never knew. Oops.
