Whenever this novel was mentioned, I always heard it associated with negativity. All of my friends who read it were forced to read it in a jr. high English class and were forced to tear it apart to find symbolism and such nonsense. Having the opportunity to read this book on my own time in college was such a blessing. Although the story may seem a bit strange, it really is powerful. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it!
