Ever so slightly different but just as fun as the anime.

I honestly don't understand what the fuss about this book is/was. While the book has it's share of memorable quotes, and the overall message of the story is somewhat uplifting, the text as a whole is marred by its corny, monotonous dialogue (and even the narration, in many instances). Whether it was the author's writing style or just a result of poor translation from portuguese to english, it was enough to make me put down the book every ten minutes (it actually took me close to two years to actually finish this book because I became so frustrated/disinterested while reading it).
