I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The author was not afraid to allow the reader time to learn about the characters personalities and what motivates their actions, so that once the storyline is in full swing the reader feels he/she has been swept along into the uncertaintity and magic of Jacob's new world with him. The dialogue remains perfectly simple and modern while still conveying thought provoking theories and concepts. My daughters are much too young for this young adult novel, but I know I'll enjoy re-reading it when their time comes and I look forward to seeing the story through their eyes and interpretations.
