** spoiler alert ** After being underwhelmed by ”Embers”, I had low expectations for ”Sparks”. So maybe it's no wonder that I actually quite enjoyed it. I liked that Brian turned out to be less of a shining knight and more of an amoral nerd. I was somewhat disappointed that the issue of him stealing a body wasn't resolved in this bookn and I think that there is quite a backstory to this guy that could be interesting to read about. I liked the addition of humour, the Roman and the other ghosts in the museum were funny and it lightened the mood of the book. At least until they got killed... But the best new feature was Charon: snarky, heroic, sarcastic and hot in an eighties kinda way. He made the whole book for me. Oh, and Sparky's babies of course. I would consider buying a third book in the series, at least after verifying that Charon would make an appearance.
