Are you ready for this action-packed adventurous trip with Tris and Tobias, their friends and family, fellow faction members, those with whom they form alliances and their "enemies"? It is quite suspenseful always with a new and different twist, lots of betrayals, some back-stabbing, a hint of romance, and the revelation that things are not always as they seem and that some people may be doing things for a honorable reason, but doing them in a dishonorable way and that others might be doing just the opposite. The second of this series which is to have three books is equally as intense as the first. I loved it. Tris really comes into her own as even more of a force than in the first. Yes, she has weaknesses and is vulnerable to basic human emotions, but that only gives her more dimension and makes you like her that much more. Who can they trust and who is the ultimate enemy as all is now plunged into war and chaos and no where seems to be a safe place? Tris, however, has to rely on her own basic instincts and her divergence to help her through this maize. And believe me, the cliffhanger here is an even deeper chasm than in the last one leaving me begging for the next book!

Crazy intellectual, but it is worth rattling your brain to think about some of the concepts he exposes.

A sequel to Eon, but not as good.

I don't know what it is about Kent Haruf, but I can't get enough of his writing style. It feels like I'm cuddling up with a warm cozy blanket and cozy socks on a cold night with a cup of hot cocoa when I read his books. They are hauntingly beautiful. Unfortunately, this one is more haunting than beautiful, so I couldn't give it a 5. A little too devastating in the end, but I should have known it. Makes me want to go back and read Plainsong and Eventide though.
