Fantastic as usual!

An incredibly powerful book...a must-read for anyone who works with a low-income population, and an even more important read for those who don't work with this population. Today a bunch of my kids (19-22 year olds) in the South Bronx (where this book takes place) were scratching off the scratchers lottery tickets and one girl goes, "No one from the hood is going to win...it'll be some fool in Long Island or something." It seemed totally in line with everything that Jonathan Kozol talks about from the same neighborhood 10 years ago.
