From the crisp, smart dialogue, with an intelligent heroine and complex(not broody)hero added to the wonderful and surprising twists on a much used romance trope - Long has penned a keeper! I love, love how romance in it's purist sense has made a return. The last decade saw historical novels more focused on sex, spies, male clubs, mysteries etc. and less on the developing relationship and romance between the hero and heroine. I say welcome back and bring it on! I'd gladly pay twice the price to see more of this kind of Quality writing. Well done Julie Anne Long!

I read Wintertide back in 2010, so I only read Percepliquis. All of the books in this series are good, but this was my favorite of all. Myron is one of my favorite characters, and I'm glad he had a significant part in this book.

I love these Magic Tree House Research Guides! My seven-year-old son is reading them to me. These nonfiction books are a great introduction to history for elementary grade students. They are the perfect reading level for my son, and are really getting him interested in history. He even wants to go to a museum now, so that he can see some of the artifacts he's been reading about! Who would have thought it?
