This is a very satisfying novel. It describes the lives and relationships of two sisters from 1999 to 2002: one is a dot-com executive and the other a tree-hugging PhD student of philosophy at Berkeley. The author weaves a good story set within the context of those times ten years ago. She explores Internet start-ups, rare book collecting, orthodox Judaism, family history, and secret-keeping.
