I enjoyed the world of shapeshifting weredragons, werespiders, etc. The plot was good and the ending great. What I didn't really like was Jennifer, she came across as an extremely disrespectful, self-centered, whiny brat (ok, so a somewhat typical American teenager). Oh well, there is certainly room there for some character growth. We will see what the next book brings.
This book received a lot of hype, and its fairly clever. However, the author just becomes downright self indulgent with her attempts to be witty and the plot begins to drag. I was hoping for better things. Guess its back to US Weekly.
so disturbing, and yet so funny. and a little disturbing that the subjects he writes about can be made funny.
This is one of the WORST fantasy books I've ever read. The protagonist wound his way through a world and never did a single thing. He just stood there and watched everything happen around him. Sometimes it seemed like he might have done something, until you realized he'd been possessed by the spirit of a dead sorcerer, and in fact, had still done nothing. Hated it.
