This is like my favorite book (well, REAL book). I just think that it is so neat that Savannah is just as much of a character as the people in the town- who are all VERY interesting characters. So much fun.

My first novel and audio book that introduced me to the magical rality of Sarah Addison Allen; this was a book about estranged sisters who share a mystical past and an infamous mother; Claire Waverly, has chosen to stay at home and developed a prosperous catering company based on the magical recipes that have been passed down in their family while Sydney Waverly has rebelled from the magic and fantasy all her life, running away and never looking back - until now, that is; trying to escape David, the abusive father of her daughter, Bay, Sydney comes home because it is the one place she feels safe and confident that David won't find her. No sooner than she arrives, is she met with the magic and mystery that lives deep in their house and their garden, including an apple tree which has the power to reveal one's biggest event should anyone eat one of its apples. Aside from the magic she has run away from since her youth, Sydney is also forced to confront her sister and for the first time, they have an opportunity to build a real relationship. Of course no magical fantasy would be complete without a love story and Sarah Addison Allen combines the romance in the Waverly women's lives beautifully. A true fairytale, complete with bad guys, love, revenge and magic. Great listen!
