I picked up this book on a whim a while back. I love reading fantasy and I was looking for a new series to start. I was scared I was going to be disappointed. I was wrong. Terry Goodkind is now one of my favorite authors. This first book in The Sword of Truth series is one of the most captivating books I have ever read. The adventure is wonderful, the characters complete, the story deep and involved. I always felt lacking in other novels in one part or another. The dialog was always left to be desired, characters were one dimensional, or the story itself was convoluted, confusing, or just plain boring. However, that is not so with this book. I would and have reccommend this book to anyone. After I finished this book I went out and bought one more in the series after another.
