This book had me until about page 200. Yea... more to come at book club...
I got bored and didn't finish. I don't know, maybe if Christians stopped spending so much time worrying about what other people think of them (or about what other people believe for that matter), spent less time worrying about how to be hip and with the times, and instead spent more time trying to get to know God closely and serve Him sincerely, the Gospel would speak for itself, even without the aid of bells or whistles or rock bands or emergent theology or PowerPoint slideshow presentations. Maybe it's time for Christians to start following Christ's call to "feed my sheep," to focus on spiritually nurturing the flock, rather than on expanding the flock. Maybe it’s time to focus on worshipping God more fully and more sincerely rather than on recruiting more worshippers. Who wants to join a flock that's half-starved anyway? Every Christian is called by God to discipleship, but not every Christian is called to evangelism. In our rush to baptize converts, we've forgotten to make disciples.
