Death can be pretty damn funny.

** spoiler alert ** Finally more of Cat and Bones! I reread the first two books in the series to get into the spirit and they really are fantastic. They were some of the first UF books I read after getting into the genre with Charlaine Harris and after 2 years and countless books they still stand out as perfection. Sigh... This one, while good, didn't quite hit that awesome mark but I kinda liked that it wasn't the same sit-at-the-edge-of-the-seat thrill that some of the others have been. I think Cat and Bones deserved to settle into things a bit, and not be at death's door constantly. We got to reconnect with Tate, Don and all the others, even Mencheres and Vlad, which was fun. I can't wait for Tate to have a HEA tho, his love for Cat is something that feels like we could be moving on from. Don dying was very sad and I think that him coming back as a ghost was a great way to end the book, his character needed to move on and this was he will be so much more interesting, not to mention useful. Bones did not get to do that much in this one, apart from one SUPER hot wax job... but he is still totally adorable with his honesty and love for Cat. I love that Frost dares to slow down the pace and let life in general be part of the story. Don's dying, Justina training to be a part of the team and hanging out with Mencheres and Kira had nothing to do with the plot, it was just things that also happens in the life of Cat and Bones.
