i'm definitely in the minority here- not a fan.
Hacking meets Lovecraft and James Bond in this amusing thriller. I enjoy the premise of 'magic is really math, very scary math' that underlies the Laundry Files books. The Jennifer Morgue left behind other-worldly Nazis for underwater cluthonians, succubi, and technology moguls, all within the context of a traditional James Bond plot. I found the introductions to the succubus felt like scenes from 80's 'sex sells' sci-fi - at two instances I set the book down thinking I was done with it. It was worth pushing through, and in the end I could see how those portions were necessary for other parts of the book to work.
The angsty melodrama of this novel eventually took over my brain. I'm not proud. But I've totally read it more than once.
