While I applaud and admire the story-telling of the unique and special relationship between George and Lennie, Of Mice and Men is not a favourite because it just didn't leave a lasting impression on me, one of "Oh my God, I can't wait to come back and read this book again!" I put this book alongside Catcher In The Rye and Slaughterhouse-Five, in the sense that I think it's just a "guy thing".

I don't even know where to begin on this one. I couldn't put it down, which in fact caused some sleeping problems. lol. However, I am glad to report it was totally worth the lack of sleep! This story left me with a beautiful, aching feeling. Extremely well written and full of wonder, I have no doubt these characters will stay with me for a while!
