I first was exposed to this book in my high school Senior Honor's English Class. The teacher taped A Chapter A Day from NPR and played it back for the class each day. The reader for the book was so good. To this day I still remember some of the scenes from this book as read on A Chapter A Day. I haven't read or listened to the book since that time, and I was wondering if actually reading the book would live up to listening to it. I think listening to it definitely enhanced the book. I still think it's a great book and an interesting peek into science fiction literature published during the height of the Cold War.

Plot: How to write this in a few sentences? Basically, Robert Langdon is framed for murder and to prove his innocence has to chase around France and Britain and discover the real story behind The Holy Grail. Characters: Robert Langdon is pretty brave and clever, a Havard professor and Sophie Neveu, although not striking as an agent of the French police, is just as smart and the grandaughter of a major part of the puzzle. Style Of Writing: I love this as a brilliant thriller that keeps you reading from beginning to end. Overall Opinion: Really enjoyed reading this one, and the story behind it, likely with no truth in it at all, really fascinating. Recommended If: You want a book to keep you turning the pages.

Great adventure story and you truly fall in love with the relationship between Eragon and his dragon Saphira. It has everything a young mind could hope and imagine to happen to them. The only setback was a little replication in characters and settings between this story and that of J.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The storyline definately followed a different vein though. I look forward to seeing a relationship blossom between Eragon and Arya, the elf.

very riveting! great, rich characters and a story strongly reminiscent of Homer's Odyssey. What I loved most about this book was the adventure -- what it feels like to have the responsibilities of a tribe that has left its homeland and the bonds it creates. This book was one of the few since my childhood which really drew me in... there were battlescenes which I literally couldn't function well after reading; the pace and descriptive narrative were so rich. Highly recommended!

pretty sucky. if i was going to write a book that was basically about my own life (clearly it was a loose autobiography), i would at least choose the GOOD parts, not the BORING ones. C-. bad news. i'm going to try prep and see if it was as bad.

if i had paid better attention i probably would have dropped out of law when i should have!!! such a fast read and one of the few books where the movie is as good as the book- take your pick.
