This was actually the first time that I liked a movie better than the book. The book was very dark and interesting but kind of got bogged down in the details. I thought that the movie summarized and tied things together a bit better.

A sense of mysterious is about a sense of awe, a sense that there are things larger than us, that we do not have all the answers at this moment. A sense that we can stand right at the boundary between known and unknown and gaze into that cavern and be exhilarated rather than frightened.

I read this as a kid and remember that when I was reading this, I had a hard time sleeping at night.
