I very much liked the continuing story of Precious Ramotswe - once again, it is the non-mystery details that I like so much in this series. The ironic twists that take place in the personal story of Precious, Mr. Maketoni her fiancee, his housekeeper, and the two orphans he decides to adopt are priceless elements to the story. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I have long shared Bryson’s wish “to step outside my front door and be somewhere.” It’s not feasible in most of suburban America, so the next best thing is to take a solo tour of back roads and small towns in a tiny, borrowed Chevette. If Bryson’s Chevette was anything like the one I drove for 10 years, it had a stick shift, vinyl seats, and no air conditioning, but since he didn’t complain about any of these things I assume his mother sprung for a more deluxe model. This book was a hoot to read. Bryson may be unrelentingly dyspeptic, but that’s part of his charm.
