I didn't love it, i didn't hate it but I sure was confused until I got into the rhythm of his writing style. It is written in the Irish accent, much like Trainspotting is written in the Scottish accent, so once you get used to that as well as the major run-on sentences it's alright. Francie, the main character/narrator, is mentally ill so it takes you through a mentally ill person's mind which can be quite confusing at times because you have to figure out what is real and what is all in his head. I enjoyed it more towards the end- but I did struggle through it.
Ok, I liked this series. But I wouldn't recommend the rest of her works. I know that's harsh, but I think she just sort of rode the coattails of "The Bachelor" series, and didn't work toward writing anything more original. The rest of them are just these books revisited.
