Such a sweet and clever little book. It gave a wonderful history less (WWII) as well as several lessons in compassion and humility. A very nice read!

I just finished prepping this. I'll be narrating this next week. I love the Maggie O'Dell series. I came into it late, and narrated the fifth book first I think. I'm so glad they've hired me to read the series from the beginning. Kava creates tense situations, rich characters, and emotionally complex scenes. It's a great read. I hope I'll do it justice when I give it my voice.
