I am glad that I gave Gaiman another chance and read this book although, admittedly, it was only because the book won the Newbery Award. This was a refreshingly unique read and a pleasant change from the profoundly heart-crushing novels that are often given these prestigious awards. Nobody Owens is a fine character but he is just one of many fine characters who added to my enjoyment of this book.
