Beautifully written but a chore to read -- I kept losing interest. The characters are three-dimensional and excellently drawn, but I couldn't bring myself to care about them until the very end. The characters didn't seem to care much about each other either. The story is rife with dysfunctional relationships and people who simply can't relate to each other because they're all so self-absorbed. I have no idea why I even have this book -- I must have gotten it for a class back when I was in school. Finished reading June 26, 2007.
