Okay, I have to admit Tempted (book 6 of the series) wasn't as bad as i was expecting it to be... maybe its because i was already prepared to hate it, so i was quite pleasantly surprised that i didnt want to run to the nearest cliff and fling myself off, thus mercifully saving myself from these evil Casts. But i liked it. Kinda. I think. What i really liked was the parts where Zoey and the "nerd herd", as Aphrodite hilariously calls them, aren't interacting. The Casts are actually okay at descriptions of places, particularly where Kalona groped a willing Zoey on the rooftop of the palace. i loved the sunny, cool atmosphere they created in my head, and i got a pretty good vision of the scene in my head. Waht i didnt like was basically everything else . Honestly, the conversations were atrocious and should not have been as slangy and insultingly stupid as the Casts made them. This duo has no idea that teens (of which i am one) dont say things like "I love you more than brown bread", or "I heart you"!!!!! The only character which had a scrap of real-life breathing through his words was Stark, who talked like a hip dude and who i could imagine to be a real person. But then of course he's stuck up Zoey's perky butt most of the book, and acts like he's in love with her, when surely any real person could see what an annoying, painfully-slutty person (and i use that in the loosest term) Zoey a-we-dfrt-a-ga-ye Redbird is. Right? WRONG. He loves her. As does heath. As would Damien and Jack if they didnt bat for the same side. As does Erik, who Ms. Redbird dumped, but then who came panting after her again when she departed for Venice. UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate that pretentious idiot; namely Zoey. Can she not just stick to one guy???????? Obviously not, as she's stringing along more than enough guys (I loved when Erik said that he's surprised Darius ain't part of her private collection haahaahaaaahaaaa) Stark and her are not a good mix; they just don't suit each other. Heath is way too sweet and adorable and cute and amazing for someone as snotty as Ms.Redbird. Even Erik deserves better; wouldnt anyone be slightly irritated if everytime they turn their back, when they look around again a demon is groping your very-enthusiastic girlfriend, and then they sleep with another guy, and then they drink and have sexual stirrings with yet another guy???? come on, Erik's only human. er, okay, maybe not human. But even vampires have emotions, right? Especially if Ms. Redbird's feelings of love and lust and sexual stirrings are anything to go by. Which they're really not. Grandma Redbird needs to either become much less annoying in the next book, or the Casts will have to kill her off the series. Seriously, the only thing she contributes to anything, now we've got her Cherokee background covered, is to swoon over her idiot granddaughter and call her something extremely unpronouncable (i tried it out on my friend, and it just resulted in the aforementioned feeling like i'd just put a curse on her). OKkay, she can show her Cherokee roots and call ehr something affectionate, but not in EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE!!!!! Bloody hell, it felt like an achievement on one particular page, where the damn lady called Ms. Redbird a-we-giu-a-tsia-ga-ye roughly 230 times in a row. She must have broken some kind of record. Surely. These are the things i liked....... Aphrodite, who was amazingly awesome and funny, but who kept calling Zoey and the gang "the nerd of herd", when surely it should be "the herd of nerd"? i just noticed it and couldnt help but hate the Casts for making a mistake when Aphrodite is part of it. Stevie Rae's parts dragged on...some of it anyway. I loved Rephaim's character, and he got some mega points from me for his absolutely fabulous name. Stark........he has literally got doomsday coming for him, the way he sucks upto Ms a-we-d-ter-agya redbird. MINUS POINTS!! Heath is perfect. like always. I love him. hated the ending. Adored the cover (British version of a cool girl in the darkness). At least we know now (after a hundred previous fails when choosing their cover girl, most of whom were not attractive enough) that Zoey is actually quite beautiful, and we can forgive all these guys for fawning over her. Not. there are tons of hot girls in the world. but they know that one bf is adequate for their appetite. Apparently zoey never got that memo. I bet if Zoey were a real person, she would love how this book, and the 30 books before this, got nearly a 5 star rating
