A scathing attack on Western Christianity, Yohanan advocates that western believers are practically useless and take up too much resources in doing missions. They eat too much candy, and spend too much money being comfortable. So instead, he says that their primary role in missions should be in giving money to third-world missionaries (such as Indians) so that they could do missions instead, citing that they are more adapted to third-world cultures, they take up less money, and they are more passionate for the gospel. The last time I checked, the Great Commission applied to all believers, and not just third-world believers. I know that us Christians in the west do tend to have it better and consume more "luxuries", but that does not negate the fact that we too, are called "go and make disciples of all nations." I am all for supporting missionaries abroad and giving finances to organizations that are currently doing missions work overseas, but I have a hard time swallowing the idea that Christians in the west don't make good missionaries and therefore should be used only for their money and nothing else. At its worst, this book seems like a ploy to get westerners to give money to GFA.
