I've read 1984 and A Brave New World, as well as Farenheit 451, but this is thus far my favorite depiction of our perilous future because the narrator seems so damn normal. It is a remarkable story in that it seems at once so completely bizarre and yet frighteningly possible. I would urge everyone to read it, open-minded or not, because there are people who exist that would relish such an ultra-conservative, "biblically-based" culture. This book is valuable in that it teaches the dangers of extremism, regardless of which end of the spectrum. A fascinating read that makes you squirm a little.
