Groopman discusses his early career and how he discovered for himself how to be able to provide hope to his patients that was not "false hope." He gives several examples and then goes on to discuss some research about hope. There is a fascinating piece on the placebo effect. I found this book to be an easy and compelling read and it gives one food for thought.

The first time I started this book, I really was not in the mood to read. So I started the story over and can't imagine, how I could have put the book down, in the first place. I love Vic! He is one of my favorite characters! This story has a lot of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. I don't want to spoil any possible thing, so I won't, I will just tell you, that if you haven't read the PsyCop series, What the hell are you waiting for? Pick it up now!!!
