it was really "the fall".one could see how falling happens.and you yourself fall with Clamence:The Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden. it is an eloquently-written and philosophically-rich novel which explores themes of conscience, freedom, and the ultimate meaninglessness of human existence.

Under a hundred pages, but full of emotion and at times beautiful writing. You get a strong feeling for each of the characters and though certain events are fairly obviously foreshadowed, the time when the truth comes out is still quite powerful. Near the end I was actually uncomfortable with what was happening, cringing at what was happening, it isn't very often that I feel anything for characters in a book, but Gunn's writing brings them out and makes it easy it identify with the them, and no more so than in the more difficult moments. A very good book, well worth the 3-5 hours it may take to read.

Ummm....Can you say BORING? I thought this would of been a great book, considering J.R. Ward has written the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series, but boy was I wrong. Not only was I bored horribly, but NOTHING enticed me. It took me over 3 months--I'm not lying--to finish this book, which is ridiculous, considering the length of the book, and how I finish books like this in one night. But that's how BORING and uninterested I was in this book, the story, and the characters. Jim, is boring and he's the lead character. How can I get into a book, or a storyline, when the lead character, bores me to tears? Vin was slightly a bit more interesting, but only slightly and he couldn't keep me that interested either. Marie Terese, a snooze. Sorry, but she was. Adrian was my favorite character in this book, and Eddie was a close second. If it weren't for these two actually making me laugh, I think I would of just closed the book up and NOT continued to read it. It was cool to see Trez in this book. And of course the mentions of the Commodore (Where V & Rehv have apartments), the church, Butch being there in his Red Sox cap and Phury, was all great, but again, nothing that great to keep me that in love with this book. The storyline was a BIT out there. I get it's fiction and it's paranormal and what not, but I don't know. Devina, was bad ass, I'll give her that. But again, she's not that intriguing. She's actually just a head case, LOL. The sex scenes between Vin & Marie Terese were hot though, I'll give them that much. But again, just too much of a snooze fest for me. I don't even think I'll be continuing with this series. I'd rather Ward, just stick to the Brothers! ;o)
