I read this in high school English class (a long time ago) but I think that this book and studying it made me want to be an English major in college. I can't imagine reading Faulkner now just for fun and without any accompanying instruction but it was definitely a life-changing experience to read and study this book.
So much better than the movie.
I hope this is the right book. If not it was one by the same title. I didnt get certified. I missed the last 4 classes (the teacher wouldnt let me make up the 4th to last class) and then wouldnt let me continue the class....grr. I HAD to work that day. A students gotta eat??? What an ass.
I am seriously a sucker for a good mystery and this one did not let me down! I loved every second of it and just flew through it. It kept me guessing almost the whole way through and you have to love crazy people! I thought that the murders were believable as was the investigation that Hartley did. Shoot, there is not a whole lot more I can say without giving too much away. I will just say that I thought the book was awesome and I can't wait for the next book! I absolutely loved Hartley, she was so likable. She was totally relateable and funny, there were a few times I laughed out loud because of something she said. The only thing I didn't like about her is that she was awfully close to forgiving Josh for what he did, but I am glad that she didn't. Sam was a fun secondary character, I could totally see that Sam & Hartley would be fun friends to have. Then there is Chase, I actually really liked him even though I don't usually like the "bad boy" type of guy. He was fun and sounded hot. Can't wait to see what happens with him & Hartley. Oh and the scene in his bedroom was interesting ;) Oh and Josh was a fricking jerk/creep. I was pissed at him for what he did to Hartley and then trying to get her to help him. Then he said that totally jerky thing and I wanted to smack him in the face. What a freaking jerk!!!!! Overall I absolutely loved this book. It was quick and fun and can't wait for the next one. I definetly recommend it!
