i actually really liked this book. i think a book club discussion of it would have been interesting. i would have liked to hear other viewpoints on the role of women in the novel and on what "the good earth" really means. its been a while since i've read it, so most of the details of the book are lost to me already. the only reason i didn't rate the book higher is because it was a slower-paced book, and while i enjoyed reading it, it wasn't necessarily a book that i couldn't put down until it was finished.
