A truly beautiful book. The story might be a bit confusing for younger readers, and is not as strong as the artwork, but Lane Smith has created a wonderfully illustrated work.

What a great book. There are so many classics that I have not read, that from now on, I will read more. I loved Francie and the writer made me feel like I was back in NY, just at a very different time. It is amazing what families went through and yet, they were happy with the very little that they had. Simpler times.
