The first bit of this book seemed like I was reading his 'Children of the Promise' book again. It has some fun, exciting moments with the boy behind enemy lines in France. I didn't much care for the story line that it kept going back to with the family back home. Like the author needed to add something more to help make the book bigger. I would have rather had more story about the work they were doing in France before D Day.

I just like learning about the Amish. I find it interesting. And therefore really liked this one.

'tales of the city' (the tv series) encouraged me to visit san fransisco, where i discovered that time had unfortunately not stood still and it was no longer the seventies, however i enjoyed it all the same. and that's where i first read the book, nad began to consume the entire series of maupin's barbary lane novels. the characters are just so...likeable! really easy reading, some might say verging on trashy, but not i.

love the humor.
