The plot is really light this time. There's some action, some less than believable drama, and a couple of nice developments in the ongoing story. But mostly it's about Cat and Bones fighting. Yawn. They spend most of the novel mad at each other, and both indulge in manipulative relationship bullshit that borders on abusive. One argument leads to a physical altercation, which really rubbed me the wrong way. The predictable "oh, no, honey, it's all my fault" conversations make it sound like they really haven't done much to get past their problems. And worst of all, Bones spends most of the time being either pissed off or absent. Even when he's around and not in sulk-mode, there aren't many moments of him being the playful, fun reason that I'm still reading these.
